OUR WHY

Our collaboration began several years ago and is based on shared personal experiences living with family members who have ADHD and recognizing the emerging pattern of bright and capable teens struggling to succeed once they reach college.

Our goal is to help parents raise teens who are ready for REAL LIFE. We believe that when parents shift from fixing problems to guiding solutions, they are giving their teen the best gift possible.

Today’s teens can reach a parent instantly, but constant access means missed opportunities to develop the resilience they’ll most certainly need once they leave home. Think back to life before cell phones. A teenager who missed the bus had to figure it out. Maybe they found a neighbor to help. Maybe they walked. Maybe they found a payphone. Whatever they did, they made the plan without their parent's help. There was no quick call asking mom to come pick them up. There was no rescue text. Instead, they navigated the situation on their own, all while quietly building confidence in their ability to do hard things.

College is hard! It expects teens to have a high level of critical and independent thinking skills, along with a strong sense of resilience. Professors won’t allow retakes or send email reminders about missing work. Conflicts with roommates won’t solve themselves. Failing a test doesn’t mean failing at life! Knowing how to feel uncomfortable and STILL recover from setbacks is fundamental to success. â€‹â€‹â€‹
